Situated in the affluent borough of Armadale, where living is simply more divine, Pavilion presents a collection of architecturally refined residences for the modern lifestyle. Overlooking the verdant parkland of Orrong Romanis Reserve, enjoy an unparalleled location, within walking distance of Armadale’s abundant and sophisticated lifestyle offerings.

From Concept
to Reality

Conceived by the innovative minds at Selwyn Blackstone Architect, Pavilion is an architectural expression of its exclusive location. Crafted to feel contemporary and dynamic yet inherently elegant, the facade is inspired not only by its enviable parkside address, but also by the distinct residential fabric of this pocket of Armadale. Generous landscaping by John Patrick adorns every facet of the meticulous design, ensuring the building becomes one with its verdant milieu while providing an even greener outlook for residents.

Considered Interiors

Interior
Materiality

Pavilion’s interiors have been artfully curated, forming living spaces defined by minimalist luxury and illuminated by natural light. While beautifully understated, the finishes palette showcases moments of unrestrained opulence, creating an indulgent yet comfortable environment that nurtures a distinctly modern lifestyle. Throughout, generous windows capture magnificent vistas of Orrong Romanis Reserve, the city skyline and surrounding treetops, while balconies adjoining the living areas encourage a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.

Abundant Lifestyle

Life of joyous
recreation

Anyone who has paid a visit to affluent Armadale will understand why it is one of our city’s most widely adored locales. Its strength as a suburb lies in the way it encapsulates its inner-city location while still retaining its laidback, leisurely thrum. Cultural gems fill the suburb in abundance, from urbane wine bars and critically acclaimed restaurants to high-end fashion spots and prestigious schools.

Parkside bliss

Positioned opposite the verdant haven that is Orrong Romanis Reserve, Pavilion’s identity is defined by its enviable parkside location. The lush, leafy reserve will ensure moments of outdoor rejuvenation are part of your everyday routine, whether it be for a brisk run around the sporting oval, a Frisbee game with your canine companion or a sunny picnic with your nearest and dearest.

Local eats

If you’re a connoisseur of coffee, a wine aficionado or just a self-proclaimed ‘foodie’, Armadale will undoubtedly feel like hospitality heaven. Of all the suburb’s locations, Pavilion’s is one of the most fortunately placed, at the centre of three coveted dining precincts – Beatty Avenue, High Street and Malvern Road.

The closest dining precinct to Pavilion is Beatty Avenue, an unperturbed little strip where quality abounds. Here, the cultivated wine catalogue of Toorak Cellars resides with the health-focused recipes of The Beatt Cafe and the delicious Japanese plates at Sonny Chiba. Mammoth Cafe is also here for innovative brunches among chic surrounds. Beside Toorak Station, Beatty Avenue is the perfect spot for a post-work beverage or bite to eat.

Sonny Chiba

Tucked away on Beatty Avenue, Sonny Chiba epitomises Armadale’s covetable hospitality scene and inimitable finesse as a suburb. Conceived by acclaimed Melbourne chef Jun Ha Park, relish a menu of inspired Japanese dishes among stylish, minimalist chic surrounds. All this is just a 5-minute walk from your doorstep as a resident of Pavilion.

Named for the beloved Japanese actor, martial artist and director, Sonny Chiba is putting its own spin on modern Japanese one poached prawn sandwich at a time. The restaurant is owned by Armadale local Daniel Russo, who appointed chef Jun Ha Park (formerly of Nobu and Sake) to curate a menu of inventive yet universally delicious dishes. To start, the entrée list pairs the crowd pleasers – edamame, tuna tartar, and oysters – with thrilling creations like the beef doughnut and their signature prawn sando.

For something heartier, peruse the extensive selection of share plates and mains. Highlights include the blue eye cod, the hiramasa king fish sashimi and the tempura eggplant hash, each one filling but never heavy. Desserts and drinks are equally inspired; devour a decadent iced vovo mille-feuille as you sip on an elderflower gimlet or espresso longtini. Housed within a beautiful heritage building, the interiors are polished and minimalist, allowing the food to do most of the talking. The atmosphere is intimate enough for date night yet vibrant enough for a group soiree.

Inartisan

Armadale and Prahran have long been exemplars in the realm of interior design, playing host to some of Melbourne’s most sought-after homewares stores. Inartisan on High Street exemplifies this, a beautifully curated trove of furniture, pottery, artwork and jewellery.

The granddaughter of renowned landscape artist Sir Hans Heysen, Inartisan founder Emily Heysen grew up immersed in both nature and art. This has played a crucial role in the development of her design aesthetic, which is very much inspired by the Australian bush.

Housed within a sunny store on High Street, the Inartisan range is distinguished by burnt, earthen hues, rich timbers and organic textures. The furniture range delivers pieces with simple, functional and modernist compositions; each one made from reclaimed Java timber of impeccable quality.

Subtle and elegant, the pieces from Inartisan’s ceramics line are staples in any household. Recently, the store unveiled their new Longpi Pottery collection, which is crafted by young artisans in India. Crafted pillows, Australiana-inspired prints and handmade jewellery pieces are also on display in the beautifully curated store, which feels more like an art exhibiton than a homewares store. Heysen is steadfastly committed to ethics in her practice, ensuring her materials are ethically sourced and environmentally sound, and that her makers are paid well.

Esteemed education and complete connectivity

Schools-wise, Armadale is renowned for its prestigious list of educational institutions. Several of these schools are dotted around Pavilion, including Armadale Primary School, an inspiring and nurturing learning environment for the suburb’s youngest students. For Armadale’s young-women, Loreto and Lauriston are both close at hand – two private schools with esteemed reputations. For boys, look no further than the highly revered De La Salle, which is also just a short drive from the home.

Education and convenience

While living opposite an idyllic oasis may trick you into thinking you’re miles from the city centre, Pavilion’s location couldn’t be more connected. Toorak Station is a 4 minute stroll from your doorstep, where a journey into the CBD is achievable in under 6 minutes. Tram No.72 is also at arms reach, trundling down Malvern Road and into the city, or Camberwell in the opposite direction.
